Hi, I’m Nicola.
I live in South London with my husband, two children and dog, although Stoke-on-Trent, where I grew up will always be ‘home’.
I became a Social Media Manager in 2017 after a twelve-year-long career as a secondary-school English teacher. I retrained, set up shop, and have since worked with a range of small business clients, many of them female- founded, helping them get noticed online.
In 2019 one of my clients, Don’t Buy Her Flowers, was listed as one of The IAB’s Top 50 ‘Born Online’ brands, in part thanks to our success in using social media to reach, engage and nurture our community, seeing many of them become customers.
More recently I’ve started working with ‘book people’ - writers, authors, literary agents and publicists - to harness the power of social media to share their work as widely as possible. It’s a new area of business for me, but is an old area of interest. I’ve been an avid reader since I was a child and in the last three years I’ve been working on my own fiction project. I’m currently querying agents and ‘enjoying’ the roller-coaster of that experience.
Since 2016 I’ve built my own Instagram community of over 24k talking about motherhood, feminism, and social justice. The power of social media to bring together like-minded people - whether they’re uniting over politics, a shared love of books, or a passion for fashion - is undeniable and it is this power that I aim to harness for all of my clients.
For busy people, social media can sometimes feel ‘Too Much’. I can help you strategise, simplify and streamline your social media to make the most of what it offers. If you’d like to find out more about how we might work together, drop me an email to book a 30 minute Discovery call.
